Scene 2

First projection test in Blender

The first time I tried projection mapping in Blender, the result was not great, there were a lot of holes in the face due to issues with the UV maps. However, after solving that by creating a sphere separately in Blender to use for the head instead, I had to do some more editing in Nuke just to make sure that the hard edge of the head is not too obvious.

Final render in Blender + distort effects in Premiere Pro

This is the final result from Blender, I then added more distort effects and grade the scene darker to create a more alarming and unnerving mood.

+ Rain in Nuke

After I showed the results to my tutor, she suggested that I could add more effects into the scene so that it look less flat. This is because something 3D scenes can look quite smooth and fake, therefore I tried adding some rain effects.

+ Raindrops on Lens in After Effects

Nonetheless, I feel that something wasn’t quite complete and the scene doesn’t seem alive or full enough. In the end, I went with adding some raindrops on lens effects, I learn how to use these effects in After Effects after watching a few tutorials. I think the raindrops create more dimension as well as create a sense of urgency for the audience as it makes it seem like we are also in the scene.
