Principles of Visual Effects: Week 9/10
Keying and Tracking
Getting started on the greenscreen shots, there are many steps to go through.
- Watching the clip over and over to observe what needs to be done and what may be the best method for each steps
- My scenes has a lot of camera movements, therefore I will need to do a lot of tracking to remove any jiggles or shaky movements
- The camera also defocus a lot on one of my scenes, hence the cameraman had to pause to readjust the focus many times
Matte Painting

Background Matte Painting
The matte painting on the left is the first edit, I exported in order to test how it would look in a slap comp, however the white line separating the mountains and the sky was to obvious as the colour is too light. Therefore I reedited it slightly as seen on the right.
As the tracking and keying is not yet finished, I would need to finish those steps first in order to have a fix format of how the scene would look. At the same time, I could continue to work on this matte painting and also start looking at how to edit other none greenscreen scenes.
