Week 22: New Storyboards + Discussions
In the previous week, we were able to have a heart-to-heart talk about how Ria is feeling and where she wants this project to go. She talked about how she wants to include the idea of dyslexia into our project as she has currently realised that she may have it.
I think that it’s difficult to do so with our currently theme and ideas, however I want her to feel motivated to do this project as well. So after discussing about how we could do this, we decided that how project will have two parts to it. The first part is the original idea, where else the second part is kind of like the revelation of the first part. an alternative ending.
The first part will shows a girl not being about to find her hairband even though it right next to her. This is to convey that she had ignore small essential things in life so often that she can no longer see it. This issue is getting larger and larger shown by more of her stuff disappearing without her being able to find it.
In the second part, she will be rummaging through old stuff and find a card about from her friend stating that the said hairband is a present that her friend have given her. Before the words on the card are unreadable but as she slowly tries to read it, she is able to. This convey how people should give understanding and time for people with dyslexia as they are not any less intelligent, they just sometime need more time to go/read through things. At the end her hairband slowly reappear on her wrist and so does her other belonging.
I haven’t written the action and narrative for the 2nd part yet, because I haven’t asked Ria if she is okay with that part. As it is an idea that she wants to convey, so I want her to be able to formulate and use her idea as well. If she likes it I will complete it, if not I will modify it with her storyboard.
