Week 18 : More Research and Concept Development / Reshoot
In this week’s meeting, I was able to share my thumbnail concept thumbnails, which is more of like rough storyboarding for different scenarios. Meanwhile, Cordy had created some lovely concept images and had work in a more visual method. Her drawings give us an idea of how the lantern idea would look like as well as different compositions.
My thumbnail storyboard helped create clarity in our ideas, and we decided to create a world where a pandemic had forced people into lockdown, depriving the road and streets of its people. The multiplying lantern will be used to represent unity between the people coming together in a difficult time and the desire to reconnect.

After having a general idea settled, I started to do some research on the environment by finding references from different media like films, tv-series and photography.
During the class meetings, we were also able to present our ideas and receive feedback from our tutors and peers. The main thing to work on was to reshoot the footage as a clean-up would be easier with a static shot. Therefore I went out to shoot some more but it was raining and my tripod wasn’t tall enough so there is a bit of camera movement in my shots and also changes of lighting.
